About the role

The Finance Manager is a part of the management accounting team which supports the project and program community, and is accountable for the provision of a broad range of client focused financial services and leading a small team.

The incumbent will be assigned a portfolio of clients which will vary based on organisational need and rotated amongst the Finance Managers. It may comprise specific business areas, projects or programs of work. The business areas could include related entities and collaborative initiatives serviced by WorkSafe Finance Team, while programs of work include WorkSafe 2030.

The incumbent will actively build sustainable relationships and work closely with and influence the members of the Executive and Senior Leadership in assisting them in making strategic and operational decisions through the provision of financial information, analysis and advice. The incumbent will also assist the key stakeholders to understand financial results and statuses, and be their primary contact for finance related issues

About you

  • Significant demonstrable experience in financial management and business partnering (including portfolio, program and projects) in a hands on capacity
  • Demonstrated experience in the management and development of financial and reporting systems
  • People leadership experience and have successfully led small teams
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with experience in negotiation and conflict resolution
  • Ability to work and influence across multiple entities and management structures
  • Understanding of project methodology and experience in project budget management
  • Professional postgraduate qualification in accounting such as CA or CPA
