As a Metro Senior Category Ranging Analyst, you will have the opportunity to work on one of the biggest strategic initiatives within the Woolworths Metro business - to deliver a differentiated offer for our customers, leveraging our data and insights to inform our Ranging decisions. You will have responsibility for the delivery of customer-focused range reviews across a broad number of categories, driving continuous improvement of the ranging tools and processes.

Additional responsibilities will include, however not be limited to:

  • Identify key strategic priorities for category range reviews using quantitative and qualitative research

  • Work with Category Managers, Micro Space Planners and Merchandise Managers to provide recommendations on range reviews

  • Use analytical tools to drive range reviews, including category segmentation and clustering

  • Support the development and rollout of new tools and processes within Metro

  • Co-ordinate the delivery of our Metro Range Review schedule

  • Drive continuous improvement and evolve ranging process in line with the company’s strategic objectives

  • Ensure Metro Ranging initiatives are in line with and leverage the Supermarkets CFR initiative’s tools, processes and resources.

To be successful you will have:

  • Be able to interpret data, derive actionable insights to make recommendations for short and long term strategies

  • Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail

  • A track record in demonstrating stakeholder management and influencing skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • A results-oriented mindset

  • Experience using agency tools for analysis e.g. Quantium, Nielsen, Aztec

  • Experience in managing and developing others

  • Understands the retail industry and commercial processes of Woolworths and Suppliers
