William Angliss Institute is the Government endorsed specialist-training provider for the foods, tourism, hospitality and events industries and is recognised as Australia’s leading provider of training for these key industry sectors. We are seeking an experienced commercial cookery Program Leader to support the Institute by managing the delivery of government subsidised programs and fee for service quality education and training in accordance with the vocational education and training quality standards for Registered Training Organisations 2015 (SRTO).

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance within the Professional Cookery programs with the legal requirements expressed through the Institute policies and procedures, applicable to teaching and assessing at William Angliss Institute.
  • Develop and implement programs and courses for future delivery with Program Leaders and teachers.
  • Oversee the lifecycle of students in the professional cookery programs such as Graduations, Orientations, Information Sessions and Enrolments.
  • Lead, coach and mentor teachers in developing resources and assessment tools to support the delivery of Cookery programs.
  • Enhance the reputation of William Angliss Institute by behaving in a professional and ethical manner in all situations.
  • Maintain and share knowledge and skills in vocational industry practice and teaching/pedagogy.
  • Comply with the Institute and Public Sector Code of Conduct, Occupational Health and Safety Policy and Procedures, Child Safe Policy and Procedures, Diversity, Access and Equity Policy and all other relevant legislation, policy, procedures or practices.

To be eligible to apply you must have:

  • An approved degree, diploma or certificate in a relevant vocational area and approved industry experience.
  • Minimum teaching qualification of Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated ability and experience in leading a team of teachers to plan, teach and assess in a range of units in the Professional Cookery Training Package and/or accredited curriculum.
  • Proven experience in strategic planning within teaching programs.
  • Experience in the management of all aspects of the student life cycle.
  • Ability to research and initiate continuous improvement strategies in delivery, assessment strategies, modes of learning and reporting.
  • Knowledge and expertise of current trends in the Professional Cookery and a network of industry contacts.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with Institute staff, students and industry personnel.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the current VET environment and the challenges and opportunities for the program and the Institute in that environment.
  • A current Working with Children Check
