About the Role

The Document Control Officer / File Clerk provides document and file management support to the People and Culture team.  This is an opportunity for the successful applicant to take ownership of this vital organisational function. This is a part time position - 64 hours per fortnight with flexibility around the days and business hours of work.

The Document Controller is responsible for the updating and management of all personnel files within the People and Culture Department with the aim to provide a high quality, user friendly system.

This position is responsible for reviewing, developing and implementing an effective and efficient file management system, to ensure that all documents are maintained in a confidential environment and stored in the relevant files within reasonable timeframes.

The files are paper based and the role will include the scanning of leave certificates and physical placement of paperwork in employee files

To add variety to the role there will be a small portion of front desk reception relief which you will be providing customer service, conducting of Police Records Checks and attending to administrative queries.

You will support and be supported by a team of Human Resource professionals.

Essential Criteria

To be successful in this role you will need to have:

  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Package, particularly Word and Excel
  • Ability to work both individually and as part of a team in a changing environment
  • Maintenance of confidentiality
  • Experience in a high volume paper filing position
  • Ability to prioritise and manage competing demands
  • Demonstrated time management, organisation and prioritisation skills, initiative and the ability to meet deadlines
