Job description:

Reporting to the North West Branch Manager, the Branch Supervisor is accountable for the 'ownership of the customer experience' provided by the branch to ensure effective management of all matters between the customer and the branch – including the safety and management of the branch team members, customer service and support provisions, branch performance, invoice management and ensuring quality assurance and continuous improvement requirements are adhered to as per WesTrac policy.

Paramount to the functionality of this position is requirement to ensure the customer needs are investigated thoroughly and that the solutions offered add value to both the customer and WesTrac, ensuring safety and quality of work is of the highest standard thereby ensuring customer relationship longevity.

Tasks and duties include but are not limited to:

  • Promote and embed a positive safety culture through demonstrated safety leadership practises including Safety Shares, Safety Discussions, completion of Safe Act Observations (SOAs), adhering to Personal Protective Equipment requirements and leading by example at all times
  • Ensure company safety procedures, safe working practices and Life Saving Rules are strictly followed, with the aim of reducing lost time incidents to zero
  • Promote and take action to embed a high performance team culture, creating the environment where team members are successful through their work plan delivery, living the values and behaviours and contributing to the wider organisation community
  • Promote and empower team in continuous improvement and the utilisation of Caterpillar Production System (CPS) within the team
  • Oversee the management of designated branch performance, ensuring efficient processes and practices are in place with a focus on meeting budget requirements
  • Ensure expenses are monitored, controlled and corrective actions are implemented to control the store profit and loss (P&L) to budget levels
  • Compile and analyse area financial and KPI performance monthly as a minimum and report variances where applicable, establish improvement plans for implementation ensuring solutions provide best outcome for appropriate financial outlay
  • Assist the Branch Manager in the completion of the annual budget relevant store/area ensuring adequate resources and operating expenses are taken into account
  • Oversee and manage Work In Progress (WIP) and Sales targets
  • Oversee the management of designated area/store performance, ensuring efficient processes and practices are in place with a focus on meeting budget requirements

Qualifications and experience:

  • Diploma of Management or Certificate IV Frontline Management coupled with a minimum 5 years' post qualification experience within a similar role
  • Minimum of 5 years people management experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiating skills and ability to engage with key stakeholders
  • Highly developed commercial business acumen skills with the ability to successfully manage sales lead generation, budgets, data analysis and compile reports
  • Strong technical knowledge of Caterpillar or similar heavy mobile equipment
  • Advanced computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Advanced communication skills – written, verbal and interpersonal
  • Ability to work successfully within a team and autonomously
  • Excellent organisation skills, with the ability to manage fluctuating workloads and conflicting priorities to achieve tight deadlines

Desirable:

  • Trade certificate with a minimum of 4 years post trade Field Service experience
  • Previous experience with Client/Contractor Relationship Management
  • Previous experience utilising WesTrac and Caterpillar systems
