The Youth Research Centre (YRC) at the Melbourne Graduate School of Education (MGSE) is currently seeking a highly organised individual to fill a vacant Administrative Officer, Research position. The primary focus of the YRC is on research related to Youth Studies.

The position of Administrative Coordinator, Research is responsible for overseeing all administrative project co-ordinator of YRC and provides support to the Centre Director, in coordinating the overall direction of YRC Research Projects and other contracts. The position is responsible for performing a range of activities for the YRC research and development team, in support and delivery of outcomes which involve administrative, financial and other tasks associated with research projects.

As the successful candidate for the Administrative Coordinator, Research position, you will have:

  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills including ability to synthesize quantitative and quantitative information;
  • Proven analytic, problem solving and research skills and the ability to conceptualise, develop, propose, review and report on projects;
  • Demonstrated organisational, administrative and project management skills;
  • Excellent capacity to co-ordinate programs and projects, manage the budgets of multi-institutional projects and liaise effectively with financial administrators;
  • Sound interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with diverse range of stakeholders;
  • High level ability to manage the budgets of multi-institutional projects and to liaise effectively with financial administrator; and
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office products, with the capacity to use information technology for research.
