We are currently looking for an experienced E & I Electrical Field Engineer to join our joint venture with Cape to operate on the Karratha Gas Plant Life Extension program. The Scope of works includes a large switchboard replacement project and much of the work will be conducted in a live operation plant environment. This will be a Permanent Opportunity looking for applicants who would be keen to reside in Karratha or we can offer the position as a family friendly roster of 2:2. The point of hire will be Perth, however, for the right candidate we are able to consider candidates from other capital cities.
As an Electrical Field Engineer, you’ll be responsible for providing detailed planning of work activities and installation to specific, current drawings and contractual and quality requirements. This role is also responsible for addressing all critical project control elements, including, Quality, Compliance, Risk, Information Management, Work pack closeout and Technical Discipline Support.
Main Activities:
The primary challenge of this position is to ensure the project or other assignment is completed in a timely and cost-effective manner to meet contractual arrangements made with the client.
Reporting to the Site Manager you will be responsible for:
  • Operates to uphold the UCJV management systems, strategic direction and focus
  • Assist project in procurement and delivery of materials to specification and current drawings and ensuring that all incoming materials are quarantined until inspected and released
  • Installation to specification, current drawings and contractual and quality requirements including asbuilts and work pack closeouts.
  • Customer liaison as necessary to perform duties assigned and as further delegated by the Project Leads/ Superintendents
  • Review design and report any deficiencies to Project Leads/ Superintendents for further action
  • Provide engineering support to other disciplines wherever and whenever required
  • Provide support to construction crew for site supervision, QA/QC, commissioning and acceptance
  • Ensure all TQ’s or RFI’s are raised and answered in a timely manner as to not effect project delivery dates
  • Raising NCR’s for products or works
  • Promote continuous improvement in all work you do
Qualifications & Experience
To be successful in this role you must possess resource industry experience along with;
  • Minimum 5 years’ in Brownfields Oil and Gas or similar
  • Recent experience in a similar industry
  • Sound Electrical and Instrumentation knowledge/ background.
  • Sound knowledge of industry and best-practice standards and their relevance to the sites engineering activities
  • Reliable, dependable, responsible, flexible, an excellent communicator
  • Strong analytical skills, high attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines consistently
  • Experience in preparation and implementation of project controls systems
  • Provides support to construction crew for site supervision, QA/QC, commissioning and acceptance.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
