Our head office operation, located in South Bank, Brisbane, has an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Accountant – FleetCo to join our Assets team.

About the role

The Senior Accountant – FleetCo is required to prepare and review the FleetCo financial performance at tender state through to contract execution, ensuring that an appropriate level of governance is applied throughout.

In this role, you will:

  • Undertake Management and Financial reporting for the FleetCo Group, Australia, Canada and Chile ensuring all is completed in line with global timeframes and used to influence decision makers.
  • Develop Annual operational and overhead budgets and monthly reforecasts based on operational performance
  • Ensure that all FleetCo Dry Hire contracts are administered in line with contract deliverables in conjunction with relevant Business Development Manager
  • Work with the Manager – Contracts to ensure that all contracts are delivered within budget and in line with contractual requirements
  • Identification and gaining approval for dry hire specific CAPEX, ensuring all CAPEX is in line with FleetCo life of asset management plan
  • Manage accounting recognition of all Disposals in FleetCo Globally and support the Disposals Manager to ensure all assets are disposed and cash received within Thiess/FleetCo policy.
  • Explore alternative pricing solutions for key tendering opportunities.
  • Engage Thiess estimating and Business Development Manager for required inputs on maintained projects and to ensure work winnings systems are reflective of current business forecast opportunities
  • Preparation and review of monthly financial reporting pack for all FleetCo entities globally
  • Review of statutory financial statements for all FleetCo Entities
  • Liaise with Thiess financial reporting team to ensure any necessary intercompany transactions are eliminated and consolidated correctly
  • Participate actively as part of the Fleetco leadership team
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders

About you

  • Holy a Bachelor’s Degree in commerce or other relevant discipline
  • CPA/CA or relevant alternative
  • More than 5 years industry experience in an operational reporting role
  • Experience with JDE
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience and knowledge of life of asset planning and analysis
  • Experience in Mining or other related industry
