To support our success we are currently seeking a Risk and Compliance Project Consultant to join the Risk, Legal & Compliance team in our Brisbane head office.

 

About the Role...

In this newly created role, you will be responsible for the delivery of Sunsuper’s Risk Governance Project. Working within our Risk Management and Compliance Frameworks, the role will work closely with the Chief Risk Officer, Head of Risk, Head of Compliance and enterprise business leaders (including the Executive team) to deliver Sunsuper’s enhanced risk governance.  This includes the review of technology capability and implementation of enhancements. The role will also require regular reporting to the Sunsuper Board and Audit, Compliance and Risk Management Committee.

 

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Risk and compliance SME contribution for Sunsuper project initiatives, particularly related to Risk Governance. This includes responsibility for improvements to risk and compliance frameworks, policies, procedures and training product across the enterprise.
  • Responsibility for SME contribution to the review of existing Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) system capability. 
  • Providing advice on governance, risk and compliance matters across the organisation, particularly in relation to the Risk Governance project.
  • Execution of risk assessments and risk reviews in relation to projects.
  • Reporting to Sunsuper Board and committees (including the Audit, Compliance and Risk Management Committee (a committee of the Board) and the Executive team.
  • Liaison with external stakeholders including key service providers and regulators.

This role is available as an initial 6 month opportunity due to business needs.

 

About You...

To ensure success you will possess:

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant business related discipline.
  • Extensive knowledge of APRA, ASIC and other requirements relevant to superannuation.
  • Extensive experience in financial services risk management and compliance including work on the delivery of project initiatives.
  • Extensive experience with:
    • Risk management and operational risk frameworks;
    • Third party risk management frameworks and general security principles;
    • GRC systems and frameworks;
    • Developing conduct risk frameworks;
    • Enhancing training programs and supporting communications; and
    • Enhancing breach and incident management, including root cause analysis and developing "lessons learned" methodology.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to develop strong credibility with counterparts in other business units.
  • Strong written presentation skills, good verbal presentation skills, good relationship skills, good problem-solving skills and initiative and good research skills.
