Due to continued growth, an opportunity exists to join Sunsuper as a Portfolio Analyst in our Sydney office working within the Asset Allocation team.


About the Role...

As a Portfolio Analyst you will work with the CIO, Managers and other colleagues along with external advisors to devise and implement Sunsuper’s ongoing investment program. This role will provide the successful candidate with exposure to the global spectrum of investment strategies, opportunities and managers.


In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Support the maintenance, monitoring and continuous improvement of Sunsuper’s DAA portfolio construction models, their underpinning assumptions and supporting process documentation.
  • Provide qualitative and quantitative analysis to support the development of Sunsuper’s asset class valuation assumptions.
  • DAA model implementation, including model operation, analysis of outputs and engagement with management, the Investment Operations team and Sunsuper’s implementation manager.
  • Assisting with the design, preparation and review of ongoing monitoring and reporting on the DAA program.
  • Providing support to the other key functional areas of the Asset Allocation team, including Strategic Asset Allocation, Diversified Strategies asset class, and Exposure Management.
  • Collaborate with other members of the broader Investment Team to support team-wide success.
  • Developing and maintaining stakeholder relationships to provide support to the broader business in meeting Sunsuper’s corporate goals, including the Investment Operations/Middle Office and Advice, Marketing & Growth.

About You...

To ensure success you will possess:

  • Tertiary qualification, preferably in finance, accounting, economics, commerce, law, mathematics or a related discipline.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office applications, with relevant computer programming experience in MATLAB, VBA, R, Python or a related language. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication skills.
  • High analytical and problem solving capability with a strong attention to detail, complemented with intellectual curiosity and a growth mindset.
  • Independent, motivated self-starter that can work under pressure.
  • Fosters teamwork through recognition of and appreciation for contributions. Interacts effectively with other departments.
  • 3+ years of work experience in a role with demonstrably translatable skills.
