About the role

A unique and truly special opportunity to make dreams come true. Starlight's Wishgranting Team work together to brighten the lives of seriously ill children and young people by co-ordinating and granting wishes to those who need a smile the most!

A Family Relationship Coordinator has responsibility for understanding the diverse and individual needs of families accessing Starlight programs, and developing constructive and effective relationships with them to deliver positive Starlight experiences. Primarily this role is responsible for delivering high quality Starlight Wish experiences and Starlight Box Office activities that have a positive impact on the well-being of children, young people and their families.

This role is a full time position that will be on a contract until December 2019, based in either our St Leonards NSW office or Richmond VIC office. The role, at times will be required to work outside of standard office operating hours, which will be compensated back to you in an agreement between you and your manager.

About you

Working with Individual Families

  • Understanding the individual needs of families and identifying opportunities through Starlight’s Programs that meet these needs.
  • Ongoing management of individual family relationships on behalf of Starlight, whilst maintain professional boundaries which includes:
  • Delivering program activities according to defined standards and Starlight internal program guidelines, policies and procedures.

Working with Volunteers

  • Work collaboratively with the Volunteer team to manage Wish Experience Volunteers to ensure a positive Starlight experience.
  • Actively engage Wish Experience Volunteers with tasks that will add value to a families wish experience.
  • In conjunction with the Volunteer team, facilitate the training of newly recruited volunteers.

 Relationship Management

  • Develop and nurture strong relationships with healthcare professionals referring to our Wishgranting Program, and maintain effective networks with relevant health, government and community-based agencies, representing Starlight in a professional manner at all times.
  • Collaborate with other functional areas to achieve shared goals e.g. contributing to Impact Sharing Hub, sourcing families to participate in fundraising campaigns and media etc.
  • Working closely with the WEC team to ensure delivery of an overall positive experience.

 Administrative Component

  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive database through Cosmos for all contacts, including families and health professionals, ensuring their contact details are up to date and all contact is recorded.
  • Provide Wish stories for tools of engagement and social media content.
  • Record all Donated Goods & Services opportunities.
