About You

An excellent opportunity exists for experienced Cook to make an immediate impact and start with our casual bank at our Residential Aged Care Facility, Mt Martha Valley. Based in Safety Beach,

You will work within a large spacious main kitchen to prepare all meals and a second (but equally as spacious) satellite kitchen to serve the meals from. Equipped with a large freezer, ample storage and brand new equipment, you will be provided with the tools to train and supervise a new team.

Through a multi-disciplinary approach, your responsibilities will include providing the highest levels of service in food preparation, hygiene, kitchen services and hospitality to our residents. Other key tasks related to this role are customer service, food handling, hygiene, and OH&S.

You will be required to manage the production team which includes, Cooks, Kitchen Assistants and Kitchen Hands and oversee rosters, budgets, review of menus and managing all daily operations within the kitchen.

The successful candidate must have experience working in aged care along with a multi-skilled can do approach, who likes variety in their day to day work environment. You will be professionally presented, highly organised and self-motivated, someone who can manage their time, be flexible with their workloads and customer focused. You will have strong written and oral communication, possess a customer centric approach, and have advanced computer competency.

Key Requirements

  • Previous experience within an Aged Care environment
  • Trade Certificate in Cookery & Food Handlers Certificate III qualifications
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Smart Phone and Home Internet are desirable

  • Salary Packaging - as a Not-for-Profit organisation we provide the ability for our staff to salary package up to $16,173 per annum of your salary (inclusive of salary packaging and the administration fee) which significantly increases the take home value of your remuneration package. Additionally, you can salary package meals, entertainment and facility hire expenses including holiday accommodation up to a maximum of $2,550 per annum.
