Rocky Bay is a leading provider of disability services, offering choice and independence to thousands of children and adults living with disability in Western Australia. We have grown rapidly over the past 12 months and as a result, we are seeking a motivated individual to join the finance team in a business critical role.

About the role:

Reporting to the Financial Controller, this is a key role within the Rocky Bay Finance team. You will take leadership of all aspects of revenue recognition, customer billing, and related systems and processes. You will be able to use your analytical skills to analyse revenue and report to stakeholders. You will be expected to have strong engagement and lead discussions with other operating departments, around optimising systems and processes, that drives timely and accurate revenue and billing.

Key responsibilities:

  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure systems and processes are optimised to capture revenue, and convert revenue to billings, in a timely manner.
  • Provide specialist financial and commercial decision making support and analysis, and formulate recommendations in order to drive better business performance.
  • Account for revenue across a broad and complex range of services and funders, in accordance with prescribed accounting standards and principles.
  • Report and analyse revenue, including variances to forecast and budget, for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and deliver customised customer reporting, utilising the resources of the client management system and the ERP system.
  • Undertake financial modelling that supports the development of forecast and budget estimates for the various streams of revenue.
  • Ensure that revenue and grant acquittals are prepared and submitted to relevant authorities.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for accrued revenue receivable and unspent grants.
  • Supervise the roles of Customer Invoicing and Credit Control Officer, and Finance Officer.

Essential knowledge and skills:

  • Tertiary qualification in Finance or Accounting discipline
  • Member of CPA Australia, Institute of Chartered Accountants or equivalent
  • Experience in the provision of business support and analysis services within a complex environment
  • Reporting and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organisation.
  • Demonstrated initiative in identifying areas for improvement as well as potential solutions.
  • Financial analysis and modelling skills, with advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience within the sector and with client management systems will be highly regarded
