About the role: 
We are currently seeking a Systems & Reporting Specialist to join our Health, Safety & Training department at our Coppabella Moorvale Joint Venture.  Our Coppabella Moorvale mine complex consists of two open-cut mine operations located approximately 140 kilometers southwest of Mackay that produce premium low-volatile pulverised coal (LV-PCI) for export markets.

Reporting to the Health, Safety & Training Manager, you will be responsible for providing a high level of administration, document control and compliance support along with timely and accurate reports in line with QLD legislation using data from multiple systems and stakeholders. 
 
Duties will include:

  • Monitor changes in legislation, codes of practice and other internal and external standards to trigger the update of the safety and health management system
  • Perform Health & Safety reporting and analysis for internal and external stakeholders
  • Perform statutory reporting
  • Development of training materials
  • Maintain the “Mine Record” as required
  • Perform document management activities within sharepoint
  • Perform assurance activities such as audits and inspections
  • Manage the SAP database
  • Manage the Chemalert database
  • Provide Governance over the Critical Control Audit Program
  • Provide advice to the Health Safety & Training Manager as well as Operations Managers

The lifestyle:
This position is offered on a Monday to Friday roster with 1 rostered Friday off per fortnight and can allow for a residential, DIDO or FIFO lifestyle.   

About You:

  • 3+ years experience in a similar position, preferably within Health & Safety and / or Mining or Heavy Industry
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety as a way of life
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
