  • Salary range is $83,403 to $92,026 + employers contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

This is an exciting time to join the Environment & Ecology Unit of Sydney Olympic Park Authority. This Authority is responsible for the protection and conservation of the important environmental and ecological features of the Park and a leader in managing urban parklands and wetlands, at the same time reaching high sustainability goals.


As part of the Authority, we implement projects and programs that help ensuring the Park is maintained in a manner that on one hand protects and conserves the environment as well as various rare, endangered and threatened species and ecosystems; on the other delivers an inspiring place for public, businesses, residents and the learners in general.

About the Role

The role of the Ecology Project Officer is to assist with implementation of SOPA’s ecology management program to ensure sound conservation management of the Park’s biodiversity, in accordance with corporate policy and regulatory requirements.


You will undertake specific ecological and sustainability projects in delivering quality and compliant outcomes towards achieving the Authority’s environmental, ecological and sustainability goals.


You will be working in a small team to apply your tertiary education and past experience to develop and deliver ecological and sustainability projects and undertake monitoring, management and educational tasks.

About you

To be considered for this role you will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in natural sciences (ecology, biology, natural resource management or related area) or experience in ecological management or equivalent
  • Current NSW Driver Licence
  • A current NSW Working with Children Check (or ability to acquire prior to appointment)
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with experience writing reports as well as in the design and delivery of environmental education programs
  • Relevant experience
