Sydney Metro is leading Australia’s biggest public transport infrastructure program, developing and delivering a new world-class metro railway system for Sydney. 
 
Australia’s first fully-automated metro opens in the first half of 2019, extending into the Sydney city in 2024 in a $20 billion-plus program of works. Being planned next is a new underground metro between the Sydney CBD and Greater Parramatta.

As a new NSW Government statutory authority, Sydney Metro has been tasked with developing and delivering metro railways, and managing their operations. The opportunity
We have an opportunity for an Internal Communications Manager to be a part of our Communications and Engagement team. This position plays a key role in managing timely and effective design and delivery of internal communication initiatives and activities to support and reinforce Sydney Metro’s culture, values and strategic direction and reports to the Executive Director, Communications and Engagement.
 
In the role you will:
  • Develop and implement the Sydney Metro internal communication strategy and milestone internal communications plans and ensure alignment with organisational objectives and cultural direction
  • Assist with the development of key corporate messages and develop the tools to cascade those messages to staff across multiple work sites and adhering to clear approval processes for internal communications materials and deliverables
  • Manage the creation of collateral, presentations, reports, intranet and digital content, newsletters, direct emails and employee events to support communication across the organisation
  • Ensure internal stakeholders are informed of news, issues and direction and have mechanisms for providing feedback to management
 
We are looking for an Internal Communications Manager who has experience in making informed decisions regarding the best strategies and channels to maximise visibility and cascading of messaging along with strong stakeholder management experience.

Essential requirements
  • A communications degree or related experience with at least eight years working in a government/corporate internal communications management role
  • Experience in the development of communication frameworks and strategic internal communications plans, tailored for a specific audience
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience of developing and managing an intranet and other digital/social media platforms, including hands-on content management via current content management systems
  • Excellent written and editorial communication skills, attention to detail and established project management skills.
 
Benefits
TfNSW Grade 9: $ 129,349 - $ 144,870 plus superannuation and leave loading
