The Department of Planning & Environment is the lead NSW Government agency in planning for a growing NSW.

The Department’s two related agencies - the Office of Environment & Heritage and the Office of Local Government, support the conservation and protection of the environment and an effective local government sector in NSW. Several other entities associated with the Department include the Environment Protection Authority, statutory trusts responsible for zoos, parks and gardens, independent assessment and planning bodies, and development corporations.

Primary purpose of the role

 

The Director of the Change Management Office (CMO) is required to ensure that key change projects within the department are delivered effectively, consistently, and with focus on our staff. The role provides expert strategic organisational change management and stakeholder advise to the Executive Leadership Team and Senior Executives across the Department to ensure that the Department presents as a professional, integrated organisation in managing change to its employees, partner agencies and the government.

Essential requirements

 

  • Degree qualification in a relevant discipline and/or equivalent relevant experience
  • Professional qualification, such as business administration, change management, project management or similar discipline, and/or equivalent

Role status

 

This constitutes ongoing employment under section 34 of the Government Sector Employment Act 2013, and the role is based in Sydney.

 

Eligibility

 

To be eligible to apply for ongoing employment within the NSW Department of Planning & Environment, candidates must be an Australian citizen or have the status of permanent residence in Australia.
