Montefiore Maintenance Handyperson

For nearly 130 years Montefiore has cared for the aged of the community, enhancing Residents’ quality of life by providing an exceptional standard of service and care.  This encompasses excellence in clinical care, residential lifestyle and allied health at our campuses across Sydney located in Randwick, Hunters Hill, Woollahra and Maroubra.

The role

We are currently seeking an experienced Handyperson to join our maintenance team located at our aged care facility in Randwick. The successful candidate would be able to start immediately and will have at least twelve months experience working in a similar maintenance position previously. 

Day to day tasks include, but are not limited to: repairs to beds, trolleys, walking frames, maintenance of Residents rooms, minor repairs of furniture, painting, replacing light globes and cleaning air conditioning filters.

Essential criteria:

  • A minimum of one years of experience in building maintenance
  • The ability to complete various asset maintenance tasks which involve manual handling activities
  • A commitment to a high level of customer service and continuous service
  • Possess excellent attention to detail and have a hands on approach
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment

Desirable criteria:

  • A solid understanding of Work Health and Safety issues
  • An ability to establish and maintain good relationships
  • Effective time management, planning and organisational skills
  • Well presented with excellent verbal communication skills
