Your new role

This role will support the Community Health Promotion and Youth Health Promotion teams to plan, implement and evaluate health promotion strategies in line with Merri Health's Integrated Health Promotion Strategic Plan 2017-2021.

This is a full-time or part-time (0.8 -1.0 EFT), fixed term position until 31/12/2019.

Activities involved in this role might include:

  • Needs assessments
  • Community engagement
  • Designing evaluation tools
  • Drafting communications materials for different audiences and mediums
  • Contributing to grant or funding applications
  • Contributing to planning and reporting

What you’ll need to succeed

To be successful with Merri you will go above and beyond to achieve great results for our clients, the organisation and yourself. We’re looking for individuals with:

  • A tertiary qualification in Health Promotion or a tertiary qualification with a major in Health Promotion e.g. Bachelor of Public Health (Health Promotion)
  • Limited or no paid work experience in health promotion
  • Strong foundational knowledge in health promotion principles
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work collaboratively with team members, engage with diverse communities and build strong relationships with stakeholders
  • A willingness to learn, try new things, have fun and be creative

This role is only open to applicants who graduated from their health promotion qualification between July 2017 and December 2018.
