Glencore’s McArthur River Mine (MRM) is a world-class zinc-lead mine with a long future. You’ll find us in the remote Gulf of Carpentaria 900 km southeast of Darwin and 64 km from Borroloola. We produce and process zinc, lead and silver from our open cut mine. It is then stored and transported to our Bing Bong loading facility and is shipped to our customers all over the world. Our customers use our essential commodities in everyday products for mobility, infrastructure and communications.

At MRM we’re looking for experienced and driven Reliability Engineers to join our maintenance department effectively improving the integrity and reliability of all operating assets. You will be working in a team environment that shares knowledge and skills and have exposure to challenging work that will enhance your career development.

Reporting to the Senior Reliability Engineer, key responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Developing maintenance strategy for equipment and assets owned by the Metallurgy department based on a value delivery approach.
  • Performing downtime root cause analyses, producing root cause analysis reports, and ensuring corrective actions are actioned and closed off within required timeframes.
  • Performing quality assurance on mechanical equipment installations.
  • Scoping critical spares refurbishments, ensuring repairer scope compliance, and managing the long-term storage of spares to ensure their availability and readiness.
  • Identification of continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Providing planning support to Metallurgy & Port departments (including supporting shutdowns as directed, maintenance budget planning assistance, and communicating with Supervisor and Operations to optimise the plan).

To secure this role you will need to have:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering (e.g. Mechanical or Electrical).
  • Demonstrated ability to provide engineering advice on policy, standards and strategies in relation to asset management and maintenance applicable to Processing assets.
  • Demonstrated experience in scheduling.
  • Demonstrated experience in Project Management / Capital Review Process.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
  • Substantial experience in the evaluation of minerals processing assets and their performance.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of risk management, safety systems and legislative requirements for minerals processing

We offer a competitive salary package, coupled with an attractive FIFO roster from Darwin (15 days on, 13 days off).

Applications close at 5.00pm on Sunday, 26th August 2018.
