Job description:

Maribyrnong City Council is undergoing significant change in population growth, redevelopment, gentrification, and a transitioning economy is leading to an influx of new residents, businesses and opportunities.

This is an exciting opportunity for a community development professional to bring innovative approaches to the implementation of Maribyrnong City Council's recently adopted Volunteer Strategy. Your commitment to excellence in volunteer practice and interest to work collaboratively within the organisation and community will build commitment to the Strategy's objectives.

The role will establish and coordinate systems to strengthen the management and development of Council managed volunteer programs, and build external partnerships that strengthen local capacity and capability to participate. This will be an opportunity to bring contemporary approaches that value, recognise, and advocate for the contribution volunteers make to our community.

You will have experience in the local government sector and demonstrated expertise as a community development specialist, with a passion to shape opportunities and partnerships that enable community to participate, engage and contribute to community life including formal and informal volunteer opportunities.

Your application will include a cover letter including a brief response to the key selection criteria, no more than 3 pages including your most recent CV.

We are a child safe organisation and an equal opportunity employer. We embrace diversity and are committed to child safety and supporting the best interests of children in all our operations. Council encourages young people, people with disability, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and people from culturally diverse backgrounds to apply.
