About the role

This role will put your skills to good use. As the successful applicant, you will undertake general labouring duties assisting in the maintenance of Council’s parks, gardens, sporting facilities and street infrastructure. You will operate mowers, tractors and other horticultural plant and equipment as required. Maitland City Council has a heavy focus on safety and providing high quality services to the community.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience in horticulture/recreation and maintenance works. You will have outstanding problem solving skills, be a team-player and will be adaptable to changes in your work environment. You must also have a current drivers licence.

Having the following licences/tickets is not essential, but would be handy:

  • Traffic Controller & Implement Traffic Control Plans
  • MR Driver’s Licence
  • Certificate in Competency: Front End Loader, Backhoe, Excavator & Skid Steer
  • WHS General Construction Induction

Benefits

This is a permanent full time role with a salary ranging $47,573 up to $52,807 per year based on demonstrated competencies + 9.5% p.a. super. Work hours are currently 6:45am to 3:45pm, including a 30 minute overtime agreement per day (reviewed annually) which offers an additional overtime allowance of $4,694 up to $5,211 per year.
