Job description:
Mackay Regional Council is currently seeking a Museum Coordinator to join the Community Lifestyle team on a full-time, permanent basis.

In this role, your main objective is to facilitate the ongoing care, conservation, management and promotion of Greenmount Homestead, one of the oldest properties in the region and one of the area’s most valued historic attractions. In addition, you will lead the management, care and display of MRC’s Museum collection, housed in facilities across the Mackay region.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
•Tertiary qualifications in museum practice or heritage interpretation, combined with experience within a museum or cultural heritage environment;
•The ability to recruit and manage volunteers
•Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet critical timeframes
•Ability to build rapport and effective working relationships with colleagues

Some out of hours work and regional travel is expected with this position.
