About the role

Reporting to the EGM Commercial & Major Projects, the main focus of the position is business development in the major infrastructure market and winning key projects for the Holcim group as a whole (Aggregates, Concrete and Humes Precast).   You will focus on strategic relationship building as well as providing supply of solutions to our major clients - contractors, consultants and government bodies.

This exciting position will have a regional focus across southern Australia, including Victoria, South Australia and Southern NSW so will involve travel but will be based form our Hawthorn office in Melbourne.  The role will be a key part of sales growth across the group and will variously entail;

  • Knowledge of new and emerging supply opportunities within the wider construction market.
  • Identification and management of project opportunities across our three product groups and through our project lifecycle with the aim of securing supply to those projects.
  • Relationship building with key personnel involved in targeted projects as well as internal stakeholders.
  • Understanding of our own internal drivers and value propositions as well as those of client and competitor organizations

About you

We are looking for an experienced and motivated candidate with commitment to our vision and values.  Ideally you will also have the following;

  • Engineering qualifications and / or in depth knowledge of civil engineering
  • Demonstrated experience in business development across the infrastructure or civil construction industries 
  • A good understanding of the market within local state authorities
  • Very strong communication and relationship building skills
  • Already developed relationships with key clients in this sector.
  • Performed a similar role for large construction or infrastructure company
