Hitachi Construction Machinery Australia (HCA) is a leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment. With a solid network of branches nationally, we service a multitude of customers, including mining, construction, quarry and forestry with quality equipment and after sales support. 

HCA's Townsville branch has an exciting opportunity for a residential field service fitter or heavy diesel plant mechanic to join the friendly and successfully busy team. The key responsibility for this role is to provide quality service delivery outcomes through diagnostic, maintenance, and repairs with a core focus on Hitachi construction equipment and product lines for our much loved customer base in Cairns and Northern Queensland.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Qualifications - Minimum Certificate III in a Mechanical Engineering discipline. Heavy Diesel mechanics and field service or workshop fitters with Hitachi equipment exposure would be highly advantageous;
  • Technical Skillset - Demonstrated work experience and technical knowledge of construction and earthmoving equipment in a similar position is beneficial
  • Safety Conscious - A strong developed awareness and commitment to personal and peer health and safety.
  • Analytical thinking - Ability to navigate complex technical issues to deliver high quality outcomes in repair and maintenance services with minimal to zero rework
  • Autonomous productivity - Initiative to plan work fronts efficiently and effectively;
  • Innovation - Passionate pursuit in delivering quality outcomes and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
