About the Role

We currently have a Permanent position available from for a Field Leader OH & UG based out of our Bendigo depot, you will manage the overhead works program including construction, maintenance and restoration works, allocated to the workgroup.

You will play a pivotal role in managing and leading a large team of employees, contractors and service providers with overhead technical skillsets to meet network services and client requirements as measured by health, safety, environmental, schedule, quality and cost metrics.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Provide local leadership for the depot and manage related customer and stakeholder communications
  • Support the Field Operations Manager in business strategy for the work group, operational decisions and fostering an overall high performing team
  • Provide expert oversight for project scoping, planning, materials management and resolution of technical issues
  • Be a strong role model and champion of our HSE values, and commitment to safety
  • Be a strong role model and change champion through a period of change for the workgroup and the wider Field Services team

With your strong communication and coaching skills, you will also bring:

  • Management or leadership related qualifications or an equivalent working experience in a similar field leadership type role (team leader, supervisor, work group leader etc.)
  • Qualifications/Certifications in an electrical distribution trade
  • Previous experience in construction, maintenance and technically related activities related to the electrical network
  • Overhead distribution construction or design experience would be highly desirable
  • Previous experience in Project / Contract Management with the ability to apply project management principles in an electrical distribution construction environment
  • Demonstrated strength influencing and negotiating with blue collar workforces, Unions and Management stakeholders
  • Proven track record and experience of financial accountability analysing operational and management reports, and driving effective delivery of organisational KPI’s
  • Strong interpersonal and highly developed communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, fostering a collaborative and high performing blue collar team
