Volunteer Activity Assistant

About the role


Helpful, sociable person wanted as a Volunteer Activities Assistant. Tasks include interacting with residents to help promote their well-being. Helping to set up and taking part in activities and events for residents, as well as some bus outings.Hours are flexible to suit volunteer. We would love to hear from anyone who is interested in this role.

About you

  • You will have good interpersonal and communication skills
  • You will be patient, friendly and outgoing
  • Following instructions and working in a cooperative way will be paramount in this role
  • A desire to have fun will go a long way!
  • A weekly or fortnightly commitment would be ideal 

Training Requirements

Churches of Christ in Qld encourages all volunteers to complete training that is appropriate for their role. We do this to keep you and the people you will be supporting safe and healthy. Training occurs in a variety of ways and we will work with you to provide access and support.

When you accept a volunteer role, you will be asked to sign a Position Description that will clearly define the training requirements.

Personal History Screening

All volunteers supporting vulnerable people require a current criminal history check. In Residential Aged Care and Community Care there are strict legislative requirements governing this.

What if I don''t have a Police Check?

Don''t worry - we can apply for one and cover the cost for you. As soon as you have passed the check, you will be able to volunteer.
