Position: Apprentice Diesel Mechanic

Temporary Full-Time – 4 Year Apprenticeship (38hrs/week)

Level: Apprentice
Remuneration:

• $22,014 per annum
• $41,276 per annum – Adult Rate (21 years+)
• Plus up to 12% Council Superannuation Contribution (Local Government Conditions apply to superannuation)

Position Purpose:
The focus of this position is to learn and develop mechanical trade skills and to use those skills to provide quality support to Bundaberg Regional Council. To assist in the provision of mechanical maintenance for Council equipment and properties in a safe and efficient manner and to complete a Diesel Fitter - Certificate III in Engineering.

Selection Criteria:
1. Completion of Year 10 School Certificate and a mechanical aptitude.
2  Enthusiasm to learn new skills and be willing to be formally trained in Diesel Mechanics.
3. Ability to carry out a physical role, with a demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
5. Ability to work in a team and take direction.
6. Provision of a satisfactory Criminal History Check – Police Certificate (Australia wide – name only), (Council to organise)
