The Sorell & Districts Community Bank® have contributed over $180,000 in grants to support projects with local community organisations, as well as paying a dividend of $38,000.

Some key partnerships and projects include local sports clubs such as South East Netball Association, as well as contributing to the Sorell High School Financial Literacy Program.

Sorell is located north-east of Hobart on the Tasman Highway at the junction with the Arthur Highway.

About the team and role

The Branch Manager of the Sorell & District Community Bank® Branch is a unique role which centres around business development.

You will play an integral role in the long-term success of the branch, driving business and lending growth, with a particular focus on business opportunities. You will further develop our existing customer base, as well as attract new customers, and deliver an exceptional customer experience to all through provision of tailored financial solutions.

You will spend most of your time in the community proactively building and maintaining valuable networks and community partnerships: your office is anywhere customers want it to be – their farm, home, place of work, a café or at their local branch. It's about being agile in responding to customer needs, at a time that is convenient to them, their business, or the community.

You will also become the leader of a small team who love our community and believe in the difference that having a bank in the community can make. With a Branch Manager in branch taking care of the operational side of branch management and consumer lending, you will focus on utilising your exceptional business development skills and knowledge in a leadership capacity; leading, motivating & coaching your team to deliver exceptional service and sales results.

This is a permanent, full time position.

About you

We are looking for a local business development specialist who also enjoys people leadership. You will have a keen focus on community work, including attending and arranging community events. The successful candidate will demonstrate a range of capabilities:

  • Proven experience in developing and executing strategies to maintain and build business growth
  • Highly developed relationship building skills; proactively developing valued networks, quality referrals and community partnerships
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor and develop highly effective teams in a service environment
  • A track record of consistently achieving sales results across all lending segments, including small business
  • Ability to connect to a customer's needs and devise practical solutions
  • Willingness to live in the area and be part of the Community the business is operating in

The following will be advantageous:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business/Finance or related discipline
  • Highly developed lending knowledge and credit analysis skills
  • Exposure to Banking and Finance products and services
  • Understanding of Rural sector

The successful applicant will be required to conduct a background check and must possess a current Driver's Licence.
