About the Role:

Reporting to the Manager, Health Safety and Injury Management the primary objective of this key full-time role is to provide leadership, support and advice to all stakeholders to effect improvement in health, safety and well-being performance. Specifically, to ensure business compliance to legislation, policies and procedures to reduce risk and ensure safety. Generally, to assist and contribute to the People & Culture team so that the strategic goals and objectives of Baptcare are met on time and within budget.

Key accountabilities will include;

  • Proving high level advice and guidance to managers and workers in relation Work, Health & Safety Obligations 
  • Growing line and employee capability in work health and safety, with the aim to build capability in the business
  • Contribution to the development and achievement of the WHS department objectives as it supports Baptcare in work activities by undertaking responsibilities as requested
  • Assist the Manager, HSIM with reporting and administrative requirements of the WHS department

Skills and experience:

  • Ideally you will have a minimum of 2 years' experience and expertise in a safety role
  • Relevant Occupational Health and Safety Qualifications with experience in aged care, health or similar industry experience being a bonus
  • The ability to effectively engage with managers across 30+ sites is key to your success.
  • Ability to work independently and bring a "can-do" attitude
  • Strong leadership skills gained within a culture of change
