An exciting opportunity exists within Aveo Group for an experienced, pro-active and energetic Payroll Accountant to join our team in Sydney.


About the role:


Reporting to the Group Payroll Manager, this position will manage the accounting activities for the payroll function including reconciliations, analysis of data, regular reporting, control checks, assist resolve accounting related queries from the wider Group and Finance function.


The role will create and sustain a high level of assistance with the processing of the Company''s payrolls and Human Resources practices. The successful candidate will also administer all aspects of Aveo Group''s payroll requirements. The Payroll team is responsible for a fundamental component of what enhances employee satisfaction - remuneration.


You will be required to communicate with internal and external customers on a regular basis in a professional manner, at all times upholding the superior standards of Aveo Group.

To be successful in this role you must have:


  • Bachelor''s degree in Accounting or equivalent

  • Minimum 3 years'' experience in Accounting roles;

  • Extensive experience reconciling multiple payrolls, payroll tax and group tax;

  • Business Analysis experience (payroll, financial and people data);

  • Experience with multiple employing entities, pay cycles over a large number of locations nationally;

  • Thorough knowledge of Australian payroll processing and legislative requirements;

  • Experience in the supervision, support and training of other payroll officers;

  • Ability to rapidly decipher and analyse information;

  • Excellent accuracy and numeric skills;

  • Excellent organisation skills;

  • A highly developed communication and interpersonal skills- ability to clearly express ideas, concepts or tasks orally or in writing;

  • Demonstrated pragmatism and sound judgement skills- ability to make accurate and rational decisions based on logical assumptions and factual information;

  • Confidentiality, professionalism, honesty essential;

  • Ability to build rapport through proactive development of working partnerships with staff and clients at all levels;

  • Ability to meet tight deadlines under pressure;

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;

  • Chris21 system experience essential;

  • Experience using T&A systems (TimeTarget and EmpLive) essential;

  • ERP System (Technology One) experience essential;
