WorleyParsons’ track record in the Hydrocarbons sector in Western Australia is truly market leading.  We currently have an opportunity in our Perth office for a Senior Estimator to join our high-performing team. Reporting to the Portfolio Lead Estimator you will work on one of our designated brownfield onshore hydrocarbon programs.
Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Develop total installed cost estimates for multi-disciplinary projects including all classes of estimates throughout the project life cycle.
• Prepare estimate plans and well documented basis of estimate documentation
• Work with the project team to develop Work Breakdown Structures in accordance with client and project requirements
• Review construction contractors’ estimates for correctness and completeness and assist in the clarification process
• Review the design scope criteria and quantities for completeness and coordinate with the project to develop additional estimating bases where information is incomplete
• Support the collection, verification and integration of all work scopes into the estimate
• Coordinate identification of area of risk and opportunity of cost estimates and evaluate appropriate levels of contingency.  Where necessary, perform Monte Carlo type risk analysis of cost estimates to determine contingency and accuracy levels
• Ensure sound quality of cost estimates, adhering to estimating processes and procedures at varying project phases
• Present cost estimating information to project and client personnel
• Collate, evaluate and maintain estimating norms and benchmark metrics data
• Assist in project controls with the establishment of execution budgets and provide estimating support for cost and quantity trends and scope changes
• Provide support in the development of estimating standards, procedures and systems for continual improvement
Essential skills and competencies for the role include:

• Approximately 10 years’ experience with a minimum of 7 years’ experience held in the Engineering and Construction Industry including Project Controls background
• A recognised degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent qualification/experience preferably in Engineering or Construction Management
• Thorough technical and practical estimating skills and the ability to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely estimating work
• Knowledge of the fundamental requirements of the discipline, including ability to plan, review and present cost engineering and cost estimating products
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously and work to agreed timeframes
• Ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams and share and transfer knowledge with teams
• Highly competent in the use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite and other estimating specific software and tools
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to convey information and ideas to individuals and group
