Systems Analyst (Product and Manufacturing Systems) - IT Product and Value Chain


About The Role:


The Systems Analyst will perform analysis of business requirements in order to prepare functional and high level system design specifications for development within the IT Product and Value Chain domain. They will liaise with the various development teams, both internal and external to Woolworths, to ensure that all developments are designed in accordance with the Functional Specification. Prepare test plans, test cases and test scripts and execute the testing for the solutions within the IT Product and Value Chain Domain. They will also provide application support to other support teams.

  • Review detailed design documents
  • Develop & maintain test plans, test cases & test scripts
  • Execute test scripts
  • Provide application support
  • Analysis of problems found in production
  • Provide training for support teams and user groups
  • Provide technical solutions/solution design
  • Issue resolution
  • Communicate functional and testing requirements
  • Provide input into business requirements, analysis and design, project plans/schedules and training plans
  • Develop reports using MicroStrategy BI tool


What You'll Need to Succeed:


The ideal candidate should have previous system analysis experience -


  • SQL skills and experience in one or more of the major programming languages along with SQL, and in the evaluation of equipment and software options
  • Experience working with BI tools and report generation - preferably MicroStrategy tool
  • Good understanding of the IT systems environment and development paths
  • Ability to gain a thorough understanding of how the application supports the business
  • Project planning and specification skills, combined with problem solving and analysis
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical people
  • Preparation of test scripts/cases and the conducting of testing
  • Knowledge in processes and procedures required to perform role effectively eg. Change Control processes
