The Woolworths Group has an exciting opportunity - an 8 month fixed term contract for an experienced Lease Manager to join our Property Team in Sydney.

The primary purpose of this role is overseeing a portfolio of leased sites and tracking the leases to ensure the accuracy of financial transactions, and management of all occupancy payments ensuring that only our lease obligations are paid to landlords. This exciting opportunity is based at our Woolworths Head Office in Norwest Business Park, Bella Vista.

In this role, you will

  • Provide specialist support to all Stakeholders/Customers

  • Review and approve landlord yearly budgeted variable Outgoings and actuals to ensure the Outgoings being charged are in accordance with the lease and a consistent team approach is taken with major landlords

  • Review all aspects of occupancy costs (such as Base rent, outgoings, extended trade, and other occupancy costs) for approval and payment

  • Have excellent attention to detail as you review leases and handle negotiations with landlords

  • Provide  support  to the property manager with the exercising of Option Leases & other lease renewals

  • Provide lease interpretation support for other Stakeholders within Woolworths

  • Deliver annual outgoings budgets, and forecasting to budget quarterly

  • Ensure the accuracy of lease and financial data in the company wide Lease Management system (PEPS)


To be considered for this role you should have the following:

  • Minimum five years experience with the administration of retail property leases.  

  • Negotiation skills with proven results in achieving outcomes

  • Experience with a Lease Management system that includes lease details, payments and budgeting

  • Experience in dealing with multiple stakeholder requirements

  • Strong analytical skills and experience in reviewing property Outgoings

  • Experience in both retail and landlord lease management roles

  • Understanding of occupancy cost accounting
