About You

We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Category Manager to join our team. This role is positioned at Norwest within our Liquor Buying team reporting into the Category Manager. The role of ACM is to deliver a promotional program that is better for customers, simple to execute and enhances the customer perception of our value, range & experience. Our success will be measured by meeting targets on sales growth, profitability, market share and voice of the customer.

A successful candidate should be able to demonstrate passion, knowledge or experience in the following:

 

  • Know and understand the category including customer insights, category trends, and product performance in relation to price/promotion and market share.
  • Create a promotional program that is reflective of the category strategy, aligns to business needs offering our customers great value.
  • This role contains a large amount of administration, so an ability to prioritise multiple tasks to meet key deadlines is critical not only in the creation of the program but in the briefing and loading process.
  • A strong background and demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence with cross functional and external stakeholders at all levels across the business
  • A reputation as an outstanding leader, collaborator and deliverer of exceptional results
  • Ability to build strong partnerships with suppliers and key stakeholders to deliver the best value for our customer
