About The Role:

 

As a member of our agile team, you’ll be helping to shape our test approach, as well as testing new features and improvements for Woolworths. Test Engineers are involved from design right through to implementation and release, Our ideal Test Engineer understands that there is always another question to ask; that nothing is exactly what it seems to be; that there is always room for testing early.

 

We are looking for someone who loves exploratory testing, collaborating closely with developers to drive test automation, actively pushes for improvements to processes, tools and testing approaches (or better yet, implements these themselves). In short, we're looking for someone who wants to dive deep into the code as well as help deliver great experiences that our customers love; someone who thinks helping the development team improve is a critical part of improving software quality.

 

What you’ll do:

 

  • Gather feedback and implement continuous test improvement

  • Ability to create and define a test approach for any given context

  • Skilled at analyzing a product for testing, using a number of different oracles

  • Adept at writing robust test cases that stand the test of time

  • Ability to write clear bug reports quickly and concisely

  • Capable of establishing a good rapport with developers and other team members

  • Carry out exploratory testing within an Agile development environment

  • Work closely with business analysts and stakeholders to derive test coverage, understand the business context from an end-to-end perspective and articulate risks.

  • Collaborate closely with developers, the product owner, and support engineers to correctly identify, prioritise and resolve issues

  • Develop & manage test tools, and extend test automation frameworks and test environments

  • Improve the quality of developer output via pair testing, providing feedback based on root cause analysis

 

What You'll Need to Succeed:

 

  • At least 7 years experience as an QA Engineer / Analyst

  • At least 3 years hands on experience with test Automation.

  • Experience in Digital Domain.

  • Experience in open source automation tools such as Selenium and Cucumber etc.

  • Strong attention to detail, self-starter, self-motivated, and proactive

  • Comfortable and adaptable in a fast-paced and informal environment

  • Experience in testing mobile application using open source tools like Appium, and (or) Calabash

  • Experience in reporting  QA activities across the scrum teams and to Team Lead.

  • A solid understanding of Object Oriented development practices using Java, .Net and SQL Queries.

  • A good understanding of web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript and AJAX

  • Demonstrated ability to solve technical problems and implement innovative solutions

  • Experience in testing web applications with knowledge of browsers and user-interface testing techniques.

  • Strong Knowledge with version control systems such as SVN and GIT

  • Clear understanding of software practices like Test Driven Development (TDD), Behaviour driven development (BDD), Acceptance Test Driven Development (ATDD), and Continuous Integration

  • Retail online applications Experience Desirable  & looking for opportunity to  improve quality using upcoming technologies.
