We currently have an amazing opportunity for an experienced Senior Paraplanner / Assistant Advisor to join our Wealth Advisory division.

Our Wealth Advisory team has been the winner of the Licensee Select Award for NSW Practice of the Year two years in a row and we are seeking an enthusiastic person to join our team.

We have experienced significant growth over the last 3 years and are in need of a high calibre individual to service a sophisticated client base (all HNW) and help grow the wealth advisory business. The firm is very supportive of candidates wanting to further their study and will also provide generous training support.

Successful candidates will have: 

  • 5+ years' experience with a Financial Advisory Firm or a similar division in an accounting firm. Ideally you will have previous experience in building client relationships 
  • Excellent knowledge of SMSF's, Trusts and Corporate structures 
  • Experience in interpreting and analysing financial statements resulting in the development of strategies 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Knowledge of superannuation and pensions 
  • Good knowledge of direct shares, managed funds 
  • Trading expertise across all types of investments 
  • A good understanding of XPlan or a similar financial planning system 
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment 
  • Reporting directly to the Senior Financial Advisors you will provide key advisory support for the Wealth Team. Your responsibilities will include: 
  • High degree of client involvement as you will be expected to attend meetings with the Senior Advisor for both new and existing clients 
  • Assisting the Senior Advisors in the preparation of high level strategic SoA's in a timely, professional and compliant manner 
  • Researching and developing financial strategies for clients 
  • Preparing ongoing strategic review documents 
  • Administration involved in implementing client recommendations from all SoA's.  This will include establishing superannuation funds, investment funds, share portfolios and the rollover/redemption of the aforementioned. 
  • Attending to general client queries on a day to day basis 
  • Maintaining and tracking client portfolios utilising our financial planning software (Xplan) 
  • Developing and refining administration processes

  • Must be customer focused and eager to solve client queries. 
  • A high degree of self-motivation and the ability to motivate others 
  • Able to develop close working relationships with clients 
  • A high degree of organisational and time management skills 
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills 
  • Display initiative and a "can do attitude" 
  • The ability to take ownership of work 
  • Attention to detail is very important 
  • Ability to research and provide solutions with respect to client matters

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Degree qualified  (Commerce preferable) 
  • Commenced or eligible to start the CFP program 
  • Strong Word, Excel and Xplan skills 
  • CA qualification will be highly regarded but not essential 
  • Previous experience working in an accounting firm would be highly regarded but not essential
