POSITION DESCRIPTION Position Manager of Public Relations Attractive base salary super leave loading and generous FBT Remuneration free salary packaging Contract Fixed Term 12 Month Maternity Leave Contract Hours 22 8 hours (per week 0 6 FTE) Location WAAMH Office Reporting This position reports to Chief Executive Officer Relationship Job Purpose WAAMH is seeking a Manager of Public Relations to contribute to and implement WAAMH s public relations strategy to build and maintain a positive organisational public profile raise community and corporate awareness about mental health and provide valuable membership services to WA community managed mental health services Key Responsibilities Duties and Responsibilities You will be required to work autonomously under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer and accountable for delivering the following Contributing to managing and implementing WAAMH s Public Relations plan encompassing accurate content management of websites documentation publicity material social media and promotional campaigns press releases membership and stakeholder communications Strengthening and expanding WAAMH s profile branding and key messages Innovative monitoring evaluation and creative content management of WAAMH s multiple websites and social media channels Creating and editing engaging high quality and creative content to drive advocacy and promote positive mental health to meet a variety of target audiences including individuals groups corporate organisations and the wider community Providing communications support to WAAMH s new and existing members Building and maintaining media relationships to attract high levels of editorial coverage Building and maintaining effective relationships with a broad range of stakeholders within the mental health sector Maintaining effective communication with members of the WAAMH team 1 Selection Criteria Essential Tertiary qualifications in Journalism Public Relations or Marketing or another relevant field At least 3 5 years experience in a similar role with a solid knowledge of communications functions and digital marketing Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with internal and external stakeholders A proven ability to write highly engaging and quality content demonstrating creativity innovation and flair Advanced skills in Adobe Suite applications including InDesign Photoshop Premiere and Illustrator with a basic understanding of fundamental design principles Previous experience in event promotions Excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to multitask work under pressure and meet strict deadlines Ability to work autonomously and be a part of a small dynamic team working across business units to assess communication needs Sound knowledge of relevant editorial and privacy legislation practices and principles Desirable Experience of working with or having a lived experience or as a family member or carer of a person with mental health issues 2
