About the role

We are seeking an experienced and trade qualified Electrician to join our underground operations team performing preventative maintenance, installations and breakdown work to Caterpillar longwall equipment on customer sites in the Hunter Valley region.

With constant pressure for greater productivity, improving the performance of longwall systems remains a key goal for mine operators. In this position you will add value to our customers operations, achieving maintenance and operational targets.

About the location

The Mount Thorley branch is 2.5 hours northwest of Sydney and services the Hunter Valley region. Its fleet of over 80 field service vehicles is operated by a team of skilled mechanics, who travel to various mine and contractor sites to repair machinery on site.

Skills & Experience

As the successful candidate you will have previous experience working as a Service Technician and possess the following skills:

  • Electrical trade qualification with a minimum of 5 years post trade experience;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Caterpillar longwall equipment;
  • Demonstrated diagnostic and fault finding/root cause analysis skills;
  • NSW drivers licence with the ability to travel, sometimes at short notice due to the nature of the role;
  • Dedication to maintaining and promoting safe work practices;
  • Underground longwall automation experience will be highly regarded.
