About the opportunity

WesTrac is seeking an energetic and team orientated Electrical Mine Maintence Technicians to join our underground operations team on a 6 month fixed term contract. This role is responsible for providing technical support on Caterpillar underground longwall equipment in order to add value to our customers operations, achieving its maintenance and operational targets. As the successful applicant you will be required to perform repairs, maintenance and inspections on a range of customer equipment in a fast paced work environment. You will have a strong drive, motivation and direction to succeed and be able to work in a safety conscious environment. You will be required to travel to our customer sites in NSW.

What we’re looking for

As the successful candidate you will possess the following skills:

  • Electrical trade qualification with a minimum of 3 years post trade experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Caterpillar longwall equipment
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to analyse problems and provide appropriate solutions
  • Demonstrated Diagnostic skills and Fault finding/root cause analysis skills
  • Strong commitment to meeting customer requirements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Dedicated to maintaining and promoting safe work practices
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team
  • Ability to travel, sometimes at short notice due to the nature of the role

You will have a proactive approach to your work with demonstrated experience working in high performing teams and have a methodical approach to problem solving.
