We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Officer to implement operational HR activities as well as continuing to ensure we are a safe operating organisation.

About the Opportunity

The Human Resources/Workplace Health Safety Officer is responsible for implementation of the operational requirements of the general Human Resources function within Wentworth Healthcare and implementation of the organisation’s Work Health & Safety (WHS) framework to ensure the organisation is compliant with legislative requirements as well as being a safe operating organisation.  This role is full-time (part-time negotiable - minimum 4 days per week) and is located at the Werrington Office. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Lead and/or contribute to specific projects as directed, to support the achievement of HR operational objectives;
  • Provide knowledge and experience of contemporary human resources management matters including work health safety 
  • Identify significant human resources issues and clearly communicate their business implications to the Senior Manager, Business Improvement in a timely manner utilising analytical and problem-solving skills.

Essential Criteria

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resource Management, Business Administration (with Human Resources) or similar, and relevant professional experience (minimum 5 years) in Human Resources Management.
  • Broad knowledge and experience of contemporary human resources management matters including work health safety with the ability to assist with developing systems and processes.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Australian Industrial Relations system; relevant legislation, Industrial Awards, Enterprise Agreements and employment contracted terms and conditions. 
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise judgment and discretion while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated ability to consult effectively with key stakeholders including management, staff, industrial organisations, other industry bodies and external agencies
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately identify significant human resources issues and clearly communicate their business implications to the Senior Manager, Business Improvement in a timely manner utilising analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to contribute to the development of innovative and contemporary HR policies and strategies.

Desirable Criteria

  • Project Management qualifications
  • Previous experience in a HR role within a health industry environment

This position is funded for a two year period. It is likely funding will be extended past this date however this cannot be guaranteed and future employment is subject to ongoing funding.
