About you:

You're a friendly, empathetic and caring individual who enjoys working in a supportive role. You're calm, collected and resilient in the face of adversity and are looking to carry these qualities with you to the front line, while managing the staff enquiry inbox and phone line with a positive, customer service approach. You have a strong presence and exceptional influencing and negotiating skills which not only makes staff feel "they are being heard and taken care of" but diffuses any challenging situation that might come-up.

You are a highly organised and an experienced HR practitioner who can assess a situation and provide possible solutions to an employee, seek support or escalate appropriately, and keep all the relevant managers/ stakeholders informed.

You are an independent, proactive advisor but are also able to follow direction/s from your manager and can work within a tight-knit team. You relish challenges and new experiences within the discipline of people and culture and are willing to learn and grow in aspects relating to your job, which you might not be very familiar with.

About this opportunity:

This position will report to Manager, People Operations however works collaboratively with the People and Culture team.

Being the first point of contact for all HR/ (People and Culture, as we call this discipline) related matters, you will play a significant role in delivering a best practice human resource service to all Wellways staff. This role will be responsible to provide impartial and timely advice to all staff looking for information or guidance on workplace entitlements, HR related policies or general workplace advice.

What do you need?

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources Management or equivalent experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Fair Work Act (2009) and its subsequent iterations/ employment legislation, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills (both, verbal and written).
  • Persuasive and influential with strong judgement and problem-solving skills.
