Job description:
Water Corporation is the principal supplier of water, wastewater and drainage services in Western Australia.  Our Community Engagement Team is responsible for effectively engaging with communities and stakeholders to build relationships and improve the delivery of infrastructure projects and programs across the State.
 
The Role:
 
Reporting to the Strategic Community Engagement Lead you will support Water Corporation to deliver strategic projects through proactive and effective stakeholder and community engagement.
 
You will have considerable experience in the development and delivery of community engagement and communication strategies and materials, which have been proven to deliver successful project outcomes. The role will be offered as a fixed term opportunity until 31 December 2019 with the possibility of an extension.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement and maintain effective communication and community engagement strategies to support delivery of high profile or strategic projects.
  • Undertake strategic analysis in planning for and delivering successful stakeholder and community engagement strategies, activities and materials.
  • Contribute to the development of business processes to support effective management of communications, stakeholder and community engagement.
  • Plan, coordinate and lead events and logistics, including Ministerial liaison, internal and external stakeholder management.
  • Prepare high quality communication materials, speeches, advertising, and initiate and coordinate displays and events.
  • Produce written, audio visual and digital communication strategies and resources.
  • Provide professional communications and facilitation advice and skills.
  • Manage relationships with project clients to ensure effective Community Engagement service delivery.
  • Create positive and proactive relationships with key stakeholders and customers.
The successful candidate will have:
  • Tertiary level qualification in communications, public relations, marketing or a related discipline
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in community engagement, stakeholder and issues management for a large multi-disciplined organisation
  • Experience in Ministerial engagement and/or working with government processes
  • A positive, effective communication style with strong influencing skills
  • The ability to work independently in a high pressure environment managing conflicting priorities and deadlines
  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills and an ability to summarise complex issues for common use
  • Proven experience applying evaluation methodologies
  • A strong alignment and commitment to our values and behaviours that contribute to a constructive, high performance culture
  • Must be willing to travel within the State as required
  • Prior IAP2 training desired but not essential.
