Kununurra District High School (KDHS) is seeking to establish a pool of enthusiastic and highly skilled Teachers – Primary for appointments to permanent or fixed term, full-time or part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2018 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements at the beginning or within the 2018 school year.

We are seeking two Upper Primary Teachers and a Primary Teacher with an interest or specialisation in Physical Education to join our team Term One, 2018.

Suitable applicants will be highly motivated, innovative and have the positive interpersonal qualities of teachers who are able to work collaboratively in teams and with all stakeholders of the school community. The learning environment created by the teacher will be challenging and caring, catering for the range of needs which will see all students achieving their potential. Suitable applicants will also possess well developed organisational skills and a strong commitment to the development and implementation of whole school approaches in literacy and numeracy as well as social and emotional well-being. 

Kununurra DHS has a strong focus on Explicit Instruction and Classroom Management Strategies. Suitable applicants will be required to adopt the KDHS Explicit Instruction approach and use our 6 pillars of school wide pedagogy, 5 Givens for every learning environment and 4 Imperatives for student engagement to drive very high levels of academic improvement and performance for each student. Suitable applicants will implement a solution focussed approach and clearly demonstrate the schools vision of a school of choice, empowering students to succeed. 

Kununurra DHS is Kindergarten to Year 12, focused on providing an inclusive, safe, supportive and connected learning environment to educate the ‘whole child’ to be a successful citizen of the future.
