This is a permanent part-time (0.8FTE) position commencing Term 1, 2018 

Bramfield Park Primary School (PS) are seeking an innovative, enthusiastic and collaborative Deputy Principal – Early Childhood to join their team.

The successful applicant will be supportive, approachable and will ideally have knowledge of ECE philosophies. In this role you will be the K-2 team leader, incorporating audit and implementation of the National Quality Standard as well as the Curriculum leader for both the English and Languages learning areas. We are seeking someone who is highly organised, shows initiative and is willing to work as part of a team.

Bramfield Park has identified priority areas of Mindfuness, (building on our strong social and emotional curriculum), writing and word problem solving.  Mental health and well-being of staff and students will be another focus area the successful applicant will promote in our school.

Our leadership team will work with all stakeholders to create and implement the new Business Plan in 2018.

Bramfield Park PS is located in Maddington and in 2018 will cater for over 300 students from Kindergarten to Year 6, from wide ranging and diverse cultural backgrounds. The school provides an inclusive and innovative curriculum to ensure every child is treated as an individual and as part of the school family.

The school is very well equipped with multimedia teaching facilities including computers, laptops, iPads and interactive whiteboards. Staff are cohesive and supportive of each other and collaborate and cooperate within our learning environment. Opportunities for professional learning and enhancing professional knowledge are provided and encouraged. 

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy.  Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for fixed term or permanent appointments to other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment.  This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:

  • Capacity to provide effective leadership in a diverse range of educational settings;
  • High level of interpersonal and public relations skills that demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships to achieve planned outcomes;
  • Professional knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure a high level of educational outcomes for all students (e.g. Aboriginal students, students from diverse ethnic backgrounds and students with special needs).
  • Capacity to manage staff, physical and financial resources.

Employees will be required to:

  • hold a recognised qualification in teaching and be currently registered or eligible for registration to teach in Western Australia;
  • obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
  • obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.


Employees will be required to:

  • complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
  • complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy; and
  • complete the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
