Warnbro Community High School (CHS) is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher of Students at Education Risk – Science/Maths to join their friendly team.

The successful applicant will have a passion for secondary education, a positive attitude and a willingness to work with like-minded people. You will develop an interest in lifelong learning in students and foster a whole child approach to their education with particular focus on social and emotional literacy, participate in ongoing professional learning opportunities and continually reflect on your own teaching practice to enhance learning. In addition to educating and supporting the ongoing development of student capabilities, you would be student and relationship focused, highly motivated, innovative and be able to work collaboratively with another teacher to co-teach a small group of year 7 and 8 students.

Situated 50 kilometres south of Perth, Warnbro CHS services the coastal suburbs of Waikiki, Warnbro and Port Kennedy. The school shares the community library and Aqua Jetty facilities with the general community through the City of Rockingham and we are jointly sited with Warnbro Community High School Education Support Centre. This relationship provides opportunity and access to facilities and expertise to meet the needs of all students across both schools.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be appointed to other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):

  • Professional knowledge;
  • Professional practice; and
  • Professional engagement.
