Rockingham Lakes Primary School (PS) is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Music and Drama Teacher to join their school.

Rockingham Lakes PS opened in Port Kennedy in 2002. Enrolment is currently around 600 from Kindergarten to Year 6. The Peel Language Development School is co-located on the site.

Two striking sculptures reflect the notion of one school with two schools at its heart. The primary school caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 6 in a modern cluster design featuring six teaching blocks, multi-purpose covered area, library and the school administration block. All classrooms are air-conditioned with interactive whiteboards. Tennis courts, large oval, covered assembly area and netball courts provide activity areas. A well-resourced, purpose built music room is adjacent to the covered assembly area.

The focus on values and pastoral care is reflected through the school''s BE PROUD program, now shared across the campus. Our highly professional staff have a strong commitment to collaboration across the school, maintaining an environment where students, parents and staff feel connected and are able to live up to our motto of ''Be Proud''.

The successful applicant will show a commitment to maintaining our school choir, including performances at both in and out of school events such as ANZAC day and the ‘One Big Voice’ concert.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be appointed to other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):

  • Professional knowledge;
  • Professional practice; and
  • Professional engagement.
