This is a twelve (12) month fixed term, part-time (0.5FTE) position with possible extension and/or permanency commencing Term 4, 2017

Pinjarra Senior High School is seeking a reliable Cleaner in Charge to join their friendly team. The position will be a job share situation and the successful applicant will be required to work the afternoon shift from 2.00 to 6.00pm each day (Monday’s 1.30pm – 5.30pm due to early close).

The Cleaner in Charge is responsible for the management of cleaning staff, purchasing of cleaning resources, and up keeping of cleaning equipment. They will maintain the school environment, accordance with Department procedures, and undertaking cleaning of allocated internal and external areas.

Conveniently located just inland of the coastal city of Mandurah, Pinjarra Senior High School draws local students and attracts many from the outlying towns and farming areas. With approximately 790 students in 2017, the school is described as offering the benefits of a larger city school whilst retaining a country school ''feel''.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for fixed term appointments to other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

Employees will be required to:

  • Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
  • Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy; and
  • complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
