Vision Australia is a leading national provider of blindness and low vision services in Australia. We work in partnership with Australians who are blind or have low vision to help them achieve the possibilities they choose in life.

We support more than 27,500 people of all ages and life stages, and circumstances. We do this through 28 Vision Australia centres in Victoria, New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia; 30 clinics; and through outreach programs in the Northern Territory and Tasmania.

An exciting opportunity awaits for an experienced operator in the NDIS space to join our team in Kensington.

Responsibilities 

As a Service Engagement Consultant at Vision Australia you will: 

  • Close consultation, liaison between the client, Vision Australia and NDIS
  • Use a person centred, strength-based service approach with a view to maximising participant outcomes and revenue opportunities
  • Advocate for and mentor participants of NDIS, My Aged Care and other individualised funding schemes
  • Triage calls from applicants and clients
  • Guide colleagues to broaden service delivery for optimising service value
  • Establish and develop alliances with key health networks, community agencies and services

Requirements

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Health Sciences, Community Development, Social Work, Allied Health or relevant qualifications and experience.
  • Client engagement and ability to assist clients to plan and develop goals.
  • Knowledge and experience with funding programs and working to target. This includes negotiation, issue resolution and relationship development
  • Experience in intake and response or case management
