V/Line, Victoria's largest regional passenger transport operator, has a proud history of serving its communities and customers through rail and coach services. As a member of the Strategies and Programs Delivery Division, the Planner/Scheduler will implement activities related to planning, scheduling, reporting, analysis and co-ordination activities for the Strategy and Program department. This will include the Annual Works Plan (AWP), State Interface Projects (SIP), Non-Build Projects and Operational readiness and strategies.

Reporting to the Senior Manager (Project Programming and Analysis), your main area of responsibility will be to develop, prepare and coordinate the AWP, SIP and other project schedules and plans to meet the needs of the strategy and program and any potential extension of times claims.

The role will also see you being responsible for utilising planning and scheduling techniques such as CPM, Gantt, PERT, milestone charts, time chainage, cost and resource loading and levelling, risk analysis, to develop achievable and reliable project programs.

The successful candidate must hold a qualification in an Engineering, IT or Business discipline, and have relevant demonstrated working experience and skills in project scheduling and coordination (preferably within a rail environment).

You will also have significant experience working on project planning and control and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Primavera P6.

Your solid communication skills (verbal and written) and aptitude to explain and interpret technical requirements to all levels of the business will see you succeed in the role. You will excellent active listening skills and high attention to detail coupled with strong problem solving skills and the ability manage competing priorities.

The salary for this position will be commensurate with experience. The selection process may include aptitude assessments, a behavioural event interview and medical check in line with the National Standard for Health Assessment for Rail Safety Workers.
